Barry Tudor is an Australian entrepreneur focused on founding, building, and scaling businesses across resources, infrastructure, and international markets.
His career has been defined by identifying opportunities ahead of the market and assembling the capital, partnerships, and strategy required to bring them to life. This is particularly relevant in complex, capital-intensive environments where execution risk is high and credibility determines access.
He is best known as the founder of Pembroke Resources and the architect of the Olive Downs Complex in Queensland, one of the very few large-scale greenfield mining developments delivered globally in recent decades.
From initial concept through approvals, financing, construction, and into production, he led the creation of a long-life steelmaking coal asset. He established a new entrant with credibility in global markets.
He is a builder of businesses and assets, focused on creating value from first principles through disciplined capital deployment and long-term strategic positioning.
This also includes:
• Leading the acquisition and development of a greenfield coking coal operation in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, from concept to production and international sales
• Forming and backing multiple ventures outside the resources sector at early stages
• Structuring opportunities where capital, timing, and execution must align precisely
Earlier in his career, he was CEO and Managing Director of ASX-listed Gloucester Coal, where he was involved in complex corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and takeover activity. This experience shaped his approach to capital markets, structuring, and competitive positioning.
He also held senior international roles with Noble Group, providing direct exposure to global trade flows, counterparties, and large-scale capital deployment.
He is among a small number of executives globally to have delivered a multi-billion-dollar greenfield mining project in the modern era. What differentiates his track record is not participation, but origination and delivery from first principles. He remains a significant long-term stakeholder in Pembroke and Olive Downs.
His current focus is on the next phase, pursuing new investments, structuring ventures, and building businesses across resources, infrastructure, and adjacent sectors through Roch Capital.
He began his career at KPMG before moving into senior regional and international roles across finance, management, and marketing. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University and an MBA from MGSM, is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
